About Rapid Transformational Therapy

Rapid Transformational Therapy has been influenced by numerous methodologies including hypnosis, CBT, psychotherapy, psychology, healing and neurolinguistic programming (or NLP). RTT embraces many of the positive aspects of hypnosis that are known to produce a transformative effect on clients: the use of trance, regression and hypnotic conditioning. Unlike many hypnotherapists RTT does not rely solely on positive reinforcement. As the client you will work with the therapist to uncover the meaning and interpretation of events and then change them. 


RTT often delivers dramatic change in 1 to 3 sessions. By using a technique called Role Function, Purpose, it recognises the significance clients attach to their issues/problems and then offers a powerful emotional release. RTT uses Command Cell therapy as a powerful technique for localised healing. RTT draws out ‘unfinished business’, addressing the trauma that clients have been holding onto for many years. Upgrading the Child offers a fast and incredibly effective way to permanently overcome childhood issues.  These RTT techniques involve "neuroplasticity" by creating new neural pathways in the mind while removing old unhelpful ones. RTT applies a threefold model of change: instant (experienced immediately), cumulative (experienced gradually), and retroactive (change that is only fully apparent in hindsight by comparing "then" with"now").


The first RTT session concludes with the client being given a 15-20 minute recording of  transformative suggestions, and these should be listened to every day for 21 days. As part of the process, the client is recommended to have a second session within three weeks, both to clear up any remaining issues if needed, and to amplify positive feelings and behaviours for the new path.

About EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a form of hypnotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress caused by disturbing life experiences.  It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal.  When you cut your hand, your body works to close the wound.  If a foreign object or repeated injury irritates the wound, it festers and causes pain.  Once the block is removed, healing resumes.  EMDR demonstrates that a similar sequence of events occurs with mental processes.  The brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward mental health.  Once a block is removed, healing resumes.  Using protocols learned in training, an EMDR therapist helps clients to activate their natural healing process.


Studies have been done on EMDR therapy showing that 84%-90% of single-trauma victims no longer have post-traumatic stress disorder after only three 90-minute sessions.  Following its worldwide recognition as an effective treatment of trauma, EMDR therapy has extended its scope to treating the “everyday” memories that generate low self-esteem, powerlessness, fear and dependency. EMDR is a highly effective coaching tool to install and future pace positive emotions and behaviours for performance, whether for sport, work or creativity.


After determining which memory to target first, the therapist asks the client to hold different aspects of that event or thought in mind and to use visually track the therapist’s hand as it moves back and forth across the client’s visual field.  One theory suggests that by using the same biological mechanisms involved in Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep, internal associations arise and the client can begin to process a painful memory. The clients’ progressive thoughts, feelings and behaviour are clear indicators of resolution—all without having to describe events in detail, or doing the homework used in other therapies. 

About NLP

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a psychological approach that involves analysing strategies used by successful communicators and applying them to reach personal goals. NLP proposes that  if a plan fails or the unexpected happens, “there is no failure only feedback”.


NLP founders Grinder and Bandler carried out research that led to the development of the NLP meta model, which defines our processing of all experience through the filters of deletion, distortion and generalisation. The meta model identifies language patterns that reflect basic cognitive processes. Modelling, action, and effective communication are key elements of NLP, and if an individual can understand how another person accomplishes a task, the process may be copied and communicated to others so they too can replicate it. 


NLP proposes that everyone has a personal map of reality and that “the map is not the territory”. An individual’s map of the world is formed from data received through the senses. This information can be auditory, visual, olfactory, gustatory, or kinaesthetic. This information differs individually in terms of quality and importance, and each person processes experiences using a primary representational system (PRS). 


NLP coaching helps people to understand their thinking and behavioural patterns, emotional state and aspirations. By examining a person’s map, NLP can help them find and strengthen the skills that serve them best and assist them in developing new strategies. NLP models natural hierarchies of learning, communication, and change. The six logical levels of change are shown in the diagram below.

About Timeline Therapy

Whilst NLP by itself is not defined as a hypnotic method, NLP works more potently when the client is in a trance induced state, either via an Ericksonian induction or combined with Timeline Therapy. Time Line Therapy utilises a person’s own internal “Time Line” to work with their unconscious mind in a variety of ways; including, healing emotional traumas and eradicating unwanted thoughts, emotions and behaviours. 


The use of timeline Therapy over other regression techniques is primarily when the client prefers not to re-experience a stressful or traumatic event in order to release it as it allows for conceptual control in managing an emotional range from full immersion to re-visiting a safe place before the source event. Timeline Therapy can also be added in when a therapeutic process has concluded and the client wishes to define and activate goals in their future timeline.
